🔟 Ross Geller's Top 10 Favorite Dinosaurs

People ask me to pick my favorite dinosaur, and frankly that's like asking me to pick a favorite child. I'm a paleontologist, so here's a ranked, peer-reviewable list, and yes, there will be fun facts.

    Tyrannosaurus rex

One of the largest land predators ever, with teeth up to about 30 cm long including the root.

  2. 2

    Triceratops

Three horns and a big bony frill, living at the very end of the Cretaceous.

  3. 3

    Velociraptor

Real ones were about turkey-sized and had feathers.

  4. 4

    Stegosaurus

Back plates and a spiked tail, with a brain famously small for its body.

  5. 5

    Brachiosaurus

A long-necked giant whose front legs were longer than its back legs.

    Ankylosaurus

Armored all over, with a heavy club at the end of its tail.

A feathered dinosaur that helps link dinosaurs and birds.

  8. 8

    Parasaurolophus

Its long hollow head crest may have been used to make sounds.

  9. 9

    Spinosaurus

Longer than T. rex, and probably spent a lot of time near water eating fish.

  10. 10

    Pteranodon

Technically not a dinosaur at all; it's a flying reptile called a pterosaur.
